Currently the government’s stringent ‘lockdown’ guidelines remain, however there have been hints that there may be some easing of restrictions when the Prime Minister addresses the nation about the situation on Sunday (10th May).
We continue to monitor closely all advice from the government and our industry bodies, in order to keep ourselves up to speed with the latest developments. Once we feel that we are able to open safely, and within the guidelines, then we will endeavour to do so at the earliest opportunity.
When we do open however we expect things in clinic to look fairly different from how they were before. This will be due to the even more stringent hygiene and social distancing measures that we are likely to need to put in place in consideration of the safety of our patients, our staff and of the wider population.
To this end therefore we are currently drafting plans as to exactly how we open when we are able to do so. In addition to the strict hygiene protocols that were already in place at the clinic prior to lockdown, we are likely to be implementing more stringent social distancing measures within the reception area and will be taking precautions to reduce the number of people in the reception area at any one time.
Our practitioners are also likely to be wearing some form of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), although we have yet to confirm exactly what this will be, and we are also considering requiring everyone who attends the clinic to be wearing some form of face mask to reduce the risk of transmission.
These difficult times will therefore call for strict measures to be undertaken at the clinic in order for us to return to work and start to treat patients again in the safest way possible. We will continue to keep you informed of developments and will be sending out our clinic policies for patient appointments on re-opening just as soon as these have been confirmed.
In the mean time we would like to sincerely thank all of you for your continued support at this time and we hope that you are all keeping well.
